Comments: I served with 2/11th Arty, 101st Abn Div, Camp Eagle, Phu Bai/Hue, '69-'70. Am writing an account of my 19 months (early out) in Army for my kids (and myself). Searching for accounts and descriptions of events that took place around and when I was there to help me remember things. I seem to have trouble remembering names and details. Is this common? Is this a trick the mind plays to protect us?

Comments: Thank You for having photos to view.It kind of helps us see what it look like in the in the field. My family and I just recently visited the mobile Living Wall which was in Mineral Wells,TX.It's a moving experience to actually see all the names on the wall.there so many lives lost.Ihad a cousin that was killed in the vietnam war.And to actually see a his name on the wall for the first was truly emotional.I would like to thank the VETS who made it possible for those of us who never seen the Living Wall possible for us to see,by making a exact replica and taking it all over the United States for others to view.Ialso learned that Ft.Wolters which is located in Mineral,Wells Tx trained 90% of the helicopter pilots in Vietnam.

Comments: Real nice site, I have seen things I thought I would never see again. I was stationed at Tien Sha from 71 to 72, I was assigned to the NSF Police then working with CID. Remember making patrols up Monkey Mountain pass the AFVN stations, pass the plane (which like most of us did, had to put my name on it). Remember watching the old French fort on the seaward side of the mountain. Couldn't get close to it of course. Making my runs down to the "Deep Water Piers" where all the "SeaLand" trucks were parked. Racing down the highway at a speedy 30mph (Max speed limit, 15 on Base). Yes, I was a traffic cop, watching for speeders along my highway. I was able to pick out my old barrack from your photo of Tien Sha. Thanks for the memories I thought were long gone. If anyone out here was there during this time frame, please drop me a line.

I'm a high school student and we are studying the war, but I would like to know what the American public's thoughts were about the war during that time period and why were the veterans against it. Any information regarding the topic or any links that would bring me answers would be greately appreciated, thank you.

Comments: Web page is nice although I served with the 366th Supply Sq, USAF from Oct 66 to Oct 67 in DaNang and the pictures are all from Monkey Mt. I remember DaNang a little differently than that. We had tent city when I was there and were in the process of building barracks at the base when I left. I remember the daily mortor attacks , riding my bike across base to the supply building etc. Your web page is nice and let us never forget those who gave their lives and those who are still missing.
