Comments:Props to you guys for the best (hands down) vet site I have ever come across. I came from 3 generations of navy men, and all of us served during one war or another. Don't let our effort for and dedication to this country fall by the wayside! I salute all who have lost friends and family during wars past and present.

Comments:Dear Friends,
I have'nt made any sort of statement about my experiences
in over 30 years. I just got a copy of the video "War Dogs"
and saw the internet address.
It's been a tough adjustment for me the past 30 years, alot of ups and downs, but I just got back from taking my bicycle on a two month trip back to Viet Nam, visiting many of the places I served.
I was in Viet Nam from March 1968 - March 1969 assigned to the 35th Scout Dog Platoon - 1st Infantry Division.
Thank you for providing a place of honor for the dogs that saved so many.

Comments:I enjoyed meeting Beth Franz who donated her dog "Bar" to The Vietnam War. JCB the author of "Dog Tags of
Courage" pointed me in the right direction of the web site. I also enjoyed meeting the many Marines that were dog
handlers at the 18th parrallel. May we never forget the 4 legged heroes who's loyalty and bravery saved
over 10,000 troops lives. God only knows why were left to do may they also be recougnised as mia/pow.
I don't own a dog, but if I had my choice it would be a German Shepard. My friend Wendy lets me
take her white lab for walks, and give it treats. I look forward to reading "Dog tags of Courage" as soon
my friend finishes reading it.
God Bless

Comments:Thank you to all who have worked to set up a page in memory of all those who served in vietnam. It has long been an obsession of mine to learn all I could about the "conflict" because I think we owe it to the guys who went, fought, and lost a lot more than a war; I think many lost their hold on what they had been taught since youth about the world and how it works. On a philosophical level, I think the human spirit was the biggest cassualty in vietnam because for all the lives that were lost, there were many more changed forever. Although I was never there, i feel a closeness to the veterans, an uncanny one at that considering i'm only 23. I just want to say you guys are always in the front of my mind. I WILL NEVER FORGET...

Comments:HE AINT HEAVY..... HE'S MY BROTHER !!!!!!!

My tour of duty was 1970-1971. Although I was in combat support I had the horrors of this ill fated ,government ran war.To all my brothers and sisters.. I love you all, even those unkown. God, if only they had let us who were trained to fight run this war. I have lost all track of my comrades so much of my tour is a blank. yet some is all to well inplanted in my mind.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL...
I would like to write a poem by Major Michael Davis O'Donnell who was a helicopter pilot and was shot down while attempting to rescue 8 soldiers...............

If you are able.... save a place for them inside you.
and save one backward glance when you are leaving..
for the places they can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say.. you loved them , though you may or may not have always.
Take what they have left, and what they have taught you with their dying, and keep it with your own.
And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane,
Take one moment to embrace..
Those Gentle Heroes...........
You left behind.....
This poem has meant much to me , althought I did not know this man and soldier. So I guess it is true to say..It is the common bond....that binds us..
