I am a disabled Vietnam Vet and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering us that was in Vietnam. My country has forgotten a lot of us that was in the Special Forces for we fought and a lot of us died, and our blood was as red as anyone elses. But Washington has choosen to forget us. So be it, I would still fight for my country even thro we are forgotten, and I know that a lot of guys are like me, WE WOULD DO IT AGAIN

I served in Hue Phubia 1968-69. Charlie Company, 101st Assualt Helicopter Btn, 101st Airborne Div. L.Z. Sally, Black Widows was our radio call sign. We had UH-1H slicks and UH-1C gun ships. Would love to hear from anyone who served at this tiny base south of Camp Evans and North of Hue.
Would love to hear from two families of, One commrad named Bill who died about July, 68, wife was ready to have a baby at the time, having problems with pregnency and Master Sgt. Helvey, aircraft maint. died the same time. I just wondered if they new the real story on these two fine people.
Great site, shed a tear or two, felt good!

I was a Aircraft Nav-Aids Repairman in the Air Force. I was stationed at Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base from Aug.68 til Dec.68 then went to DaNang for the rest of my tour, until Aug.69. I was at DaNang on April 28, 1969 when the bomb dump blew up. Talk about a BIG fireworks display. Mostly noise and smoke where I was in Gunfighter Village. Glad I made it back to the world and glad to have a lot of friends, like you guys, who worked together to try to bring us all back alive. Too bad we didn't have the help of the politicians. If they had helped, as they should have, there would not be 58,000+ names on the WALL.

I was a communication technician in the Air Force, and was stationed at Da Nang and Benwa. Performing maintenace on telephone systems. I did not see a lot of action, but the little I experienced (TET Offense '68) was enough to last a lifetime. My hat goes off to all of the Marines and Army combatants who help to make my life a little easier on the rock. (Da Nang)
I think that better care of our Veterans is something that every American should demand. And every Congressman or congreewoman should be the first to endorse any action that would help make life a little easier for those (Vets) that made their lives possible.
Just think, where would we be if we did not have men and women who wouldn't put country above self?

Was searching the WWW and found your webpages of pictures of Monkey Mountain.
I was the lead petty officer with the Navy detactment (Com2ndFlt Det C)in 68 to 69. Also was the person that rescued and raised BOOTS,the dog -- that had the run of place and was loved by all.
I have pictures relating to Monkey Mountain including Boots and some of the Navy personal.

Great site! Brings back a lot of memories. I was a 3rd Class UT in RVN at Red Beach in 1966 and 1967 with the Seabees of MCB-1, Bravo Co.
Spent many an night time hour in those towers and pits.
MCB-1 initaited the work at China Beach, Hill 327, Marine FLSG and a few other projects in the Red Beach area.

My father, Bubba Russell, served in Vietnam and went to boot camp in Ft. Benning, GA. in either 1966 or 1967. He had a cavalry patch on his jacket, and I have a photo of him standing next to a sign that says Alpha Co. Tigers. He is a white male and would have been 20-21 years of age at that time. Any information would be appreciated, as I have no place to start to look.
